MoDeSt 2018 will be taken place in Tokyo at Yayoi Auditorium, Yayoi Campus, The University of Tokyo from September 2 – September 6, 2018.


Thank you for giving us a full house! The capacity of conference place for MoDeSt2018 has become full during the early-bird registration period. Accordingly, only presenters and co-authors of papers can be acceptable for the late registration. Furthermore, the on-site registration is unavailable! Thank you very much for your understanding.

Change / Cancellation / Refund Policy

Your registration and/or other options are unchangeable online. Please send an Email to MoDeSt 2018 registration desk ( for any changes or cancellation.


The date and time of the change and cancellation will be based on the working hours (Monday through Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm [Japan time] except the national holidays). After working hours, cancellation will be made next working day, which may incur charges.

Cancellation Fee


Requests for cancellation made 45 days before 2nd September 2018 will be subject to an administration fee (10,000 JPY). After that date the full amount of the invoice has to be paid. Requests for refund will not be accepted. Alternatively, you may nominate a substitute participant from your company/organization. For that, please provide proper notice, as well as the substitute person’s name and affiliation.

Visa Information

Those wishing to apply for visas are required to complete the registration and remittance.

After registering on-line form, please let us know by e-mail that you need the visa supporting documents with your ID number.

The registration desk will ask you the payment of the document issuance fee (JPY7,500), required information and passport copy to issue the documents.
Please note that no documents for visa will be prepared for those who have not completed the payment of the required registration fees and the issuance fee in full.
Your document issuance fee will be charged only after the inviting person/guarantor in Japan verifies that you are entitled to receive the documents.

*Document issuance fee is non-refundable.


The conference organizer will not be able to contact or intervene with any Embassy on your behalf. Please contact the Consular Section of the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan nearest you.

Registration and hotel reservation can be made online through “Online Registration”

-You must have a valid e-mail address in order to apply. All communication with regard to your application will be sent via e-mail.

-After submitting the online registration, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that the submission of your registration was successful. However, please note that receiving the e-mail does not imply your registration and hotel reservation are confirmed. Your registration will be confirmed separately by e-mail after your payment is made.


Reservation for the hotel can be made online upon the agreement with 1 and 2, reading 3 below.


1. Information related to the hotel reservation will be all announced at the Accommodation page. There will be no brochures or other items (instructions, contracts, etc.) sent through post.
2. Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd and commissioned companies shall use personal information entered online registration for an application to contact a client, and to the extent necessary for arranging and providing services for which the client has applied. Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd. shall share parts or all of personal data to transportation and accommodation facilities as well as representatives to the extent necessary to arrange services.
