Introduction

As of today, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, all foreign nationals who wish to newly enter Japan need to apply for a visa except for those with re-entry permit.
The Support Office is managed under the supervision of the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA), the host of the TOKYO GAME SHOW 2022, to help trade visitors (exhibitors, the press, and Business Day visitors) who participate in the show from abroad in obtaining a visa.
Please proceed to the Application Form after thoroughly confirming all the information hereunder.

Announcement

The application form for the visa support documents will be closed on August 31st.

From September 1st and onwards, if you still want to apply for the visa support documents, please send an email and you will receive an excel form sheet to fill out for registration.

Before contacting The TGS Entry Japan Support Office for the purpose of application registration, please check first with the Japanese Embassy/Consulate of which you plan to submit the documents to on whether or not you are able to receive a visa in time for the Tokyo Game Show once the documents have been submitted. There are certain Japanese Embassies/Consulates around the world that are very difficult to make reservations due to the large number of reservation requests.

Please be aware refunds for the entry support fee cannot be issued once the application has been submitted.

Support fee 16,500 yen per person (including tax)

*The fee includes preparation of necessary documents required for visa application and responding to inquiries by e-mail.

*It does not include the actual visa fee, which should be paid in the currency of the country (region) in which the Embassy / Consulate General is located.

*Only credit card payments are accepted.

1. Documents required for a visa application

  1. Certificate for completion of registration to the ERFS system
  2. Invitation letter
  3. Letter of guarantee
  4. Schedule of stay
  5. Details of inviting (receiving) company/organization

*Based on New Border Measures, foreign nationals who apply for new entry into Japan are regarded as those with “special exceptional circumstances” and are allowed for new entry into Japan in principle, if the receiving organizations located in Japan complete prescribed applications in the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS).
Therefore, besides the documents normally required, an ERFS certificate must also be submitted.

In addition to the above 5 support documents, an applicant must fill out and submit a visa application form with a photo attached.

The Support Office will prepare the above 5 documents and send them to each applicant by e-mail (PDF files).
In some countries you may be requested to submit the original documents, in which case the Support Office will send the documents by DHL with a separate delivery fee to be paid by credit card in addition to the support fee. It may take more than 2 weeks for delivery, therefore, please contact the Consular Section of the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan nearest you for more information as early as possible.

2. Deadline for support documents

Application deadline: 17:00 (JST), Friday, August 5, 2022 (Application may be accepted upon available basis)
Please allow yourself enough time as the processing period for visa issuance may take 2 weeks after submitting the application documents depending on the Embassy/Consulate General.

    You can register part of the quarantine procedures beforehand.
    (What you can do: Filling out the questionnaire and the written pledge, confirming the validity of your vaccination certificate and a certificate of negative test result of COVID-19 conducted within 72 hours prior to departure

    *For a Fast Track application, you are required to complete an advance application on the app at least six hours prior to the arrival time of your flight.

    If you are unable to follow the prior procedures for the use of Fast Track as you are required to stay home, etc. for quarantine, please check here.

    Notes
    *Please be sure to install the apps (MYSOS and others) in your smartphone/tablet before you depart for Japan.
    *If you do not have any device (smartphone/tablet) and/or if the prior application is not completed, the documents need to be checked at the airport, so you may have to wait for long hours at the airport upon arrival in Japan.
    *If you need to stay home, etc. for quarantine and that you do not have any devise (smartphone/tablet), you are requested to rent one at the airport upon arrival at your own cost.
