Introduction

As of today, July, 4 2023 (Tuesday), some foreign nationals who wish to newly enter Japan will be required to apply for a visa, except for those with a re-entry permit.
The Support Office is managed under the supervision of the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA), the host of the TOKYO GAME SHOW 2023, to help trade visitors (exhibitors, the press, and Business Day visitors) who participate in the show from abroad in obtaining a visa.

Support fee 16,500 yen per person (including tax)

*The fee includes preparation of necessary documents required for visa application and responding to inquiries by e-mail.

*It does not include the actual visa fee, which should be paid in the currency of the country (region) in which the Embassy / Consulate General is located.

1. Documents required for a visa application

  1. Invitation letter
  2. Letter of guarantee
  3. Schedule of stay
  4. Details of inviting (receiving) company/organization

In addition to the above 4 support documents, an applicant must fill out and submit a visa application form with a photo attached.

In addition to the above, please check your passport date of expiry.
The number of days remaining in your passport required for visa application varies depending on your nationality.
Please check with your local Japanese embassy/consulate for details.

The Support Office will prepare the above 4 documents and send them to each applicant by e-mail (PDF files).
In some countries you may be requested to submit the original documents, in which case the Support Office will send the documents by DHL with a separate delivery fee to be paid by credit card in addition to the support fee. It may take more than 2 weeks for delivery, therefore, please contact the Consular Section of the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan nearest you for more information as early as possible.

2. Deadline for support documents

Monday, September 4th(Application may be accepted upon available basis)
Please allow yourself enough time as the processing period for visa issuance may take 2 weeks after submitting the application documents depending on the Embassy/Consulate General.
Also, there are certain Japanese Embassies/Consulates around the world that are very difficult to make reservations due to the large number of reservation requests.

3. Japan’s border control

If you enter Japan after midnight Japan time on April 29th, valid vaccination certificate or pre-departure test is not required.
